We've all heard the famous saying, "I’ll burn that bridge when I come to it", right?
Many people haven't heard of the term 'malaphor', but plenty of us will be guilty of the habit when we get a bit tongue-tied!
A malaphor is essentially blending two idioms which results in a nonsensical phrase, such as 'the cream of the cake' or 'I was flying by the edge of my seat', with the end result meaning neither of the two things you were trying to say!
Considering most of us will have had a bit of a linguistic blunder at some point in our lives, we decided to find some of the funniest malaphors from around the world courtesy of Malaphors.com, a website which posts submissions from across the globe.
